IT'S ALL ABOUT THE WATER - CAMPAIGN 2008
Letter Writing Campaign
Attached is a sample letter along with key individuals who should be sent letters in support of a letter writing campaign responding to the report “It’s all about the Water” published by the Panel for the Trent Severn earlier this spring. It is clear to the CEWF that unless we aggressively voice our opinions and needs, this report will join dozens of other commissioned reports and sit on the self gathering dust. CEWF is asking the government to follow up on one of the recommendation in the report to establish an Independent Water Management Agency (IWMA) as a critical next step in establishing water management policies with a view to consider all stakeholder needs. Please participate in this campaign and send your letters (both written and e-mail) and assist in us in getting an IWMA established.. For more information on the Campaign please view the following POSTER and SAMPLE LETTER.

The HHLPOA was one of three Cottage Associations singled out by Cottage Life magazine winning an Award of Merit in the Green Cottager – Group Category. Our winning entry details our past two years efforts in reducing light pollution on our lakes. Our submission, as well as the details from the other winning entries, are in PDF format on our Articles Page. Even more information is available in the Green Cottaging Guide which was an insert with the May 07 Cottage Life Magazine and at the Cottage Life web site www.cottagelife.com.
Summer Day Camp
We have been contacted by the director of a new summer day camp operating at the Kinark Outdoor Centre which is on the Queens Line near Carnarvon. The camp is jointly operated by two not for profit organizations, the Kinark Outdoor Centre and Out to Learn, a group of biologists formerly associated with the Frost Centre. For more details contact Jim Mc Hardy at 1-800-805-8252 or 1-705-286-3555.
